Our Approach to Therapy
Every child's program looks different, but here's a quick look at the core methods our clinicians draw on to build it.
Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
We move beyond structured table work, teaching skills during the everyday play, activities, and routines that naturally occur throughout your child's day. By embedding learning into real-life moments, children build skills that are functional, meaningful, and easier to carry into the real world.

Functional Communication Training (FCT)
Instead of relying on challenging behaviors to communicate, children are taught functional ways to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings using spoken language, sign language, picture systems, or an AAC device, depending on what fits them best. As communication improves, we fade support so these skills carry over into daily life.

Positive Behavior Support
We believe behavior is a form of communication, so rather than simply reducing unwanted behaviors, we identify what's driving them and teach functional replacement skills such as communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. We reinforce positive behavior through encouragement and rewards that are meaningful to each child.
Generalization of Skills
True learning happens when a skill can be used in more than one place. Whether we’re teaching social skills, life skills or learning skills, we intentionally practice skills across different environments, people, and materials, so your child can use what they've learned confidently at home, at school, and in the community.

Errorless Teaching
This evidence-based approach provides just the right level of support and prompting to minimize mistakes while your child learns something new. By reducing frustration and building early wins, children gain confidence faster and are more willing to keep trying.
Prompt Fading for Independence
We provide the level of support each child needs to succeed, then systematically reduce those prompts as they gain confidence and mastery. This helps children respond independently, rather than relying on ongoing cues to complete a task.
Role Play and Modeling
Our clinicians demonstrate appropriate behaviors and social interactions, then guide your child through safe opportunities to practice them. As your child grows more comfortable, we gradually reduce support to build independence.
